Mansfield Town swoop to sign Notts County goalkeeper

MANSFIELD Town have signed Notts County's Liam Mitchell on a one-month loan to replace the injured Alan Marriott.

Marriott was injured in a training ground accident on Wednesday and requires surgery on his shoulder, which will keep him out for a number of months.

But manager Paul Cox today sealed a deal for 20-year-old Mitchell, who goes straight into the squad to face Hereford tomorrow.

Mitchell said:  "I want to try and get some vital experience and help the Stags move up the table."
