ADAM Chapman bagged a hat-trick on his home debut as Mansfield Town powered to a 4-1 victory against Stockport to move joint top of the Blue Square Bet Premier.

He netted the rebound on 13 minutes, after Richard O'Donnell had done well to deny Matt Green.

And seven minutes later he placed the ball into the bottom corner from 12 yards to double the advantage.

With leaders Wrexham losing to Dartford in the earlier kick-off, victory always meant the Stags would go joint top on 68 points if they won.

And Matt Green's 18th goal of the season on 57 minutes all but assured that although Stockport pulled one back through Paul Marshall's 25-yard screamer into the top corner.

But Chapman proved a match as on 78 minutes, he produced a similar spectacular finish from distance to wrap up his treble and the three points.

It made it seven wins on the spin and 11 from their last 12 league matches for Stags and now only goal difference is keeping Mansfield off top spot.

“Well done Stags - just keep it going as you seem to have the right blend to nick this league!!!”
