Man jailed for 13 years after sex attack
A MAN who sexually assaulted a woman he met in the street after hitting her with a brick has been jailed for 13 years.
Jermaine Robinson denied grievous bodily harm and sexual assault but was convicted by a jury at Nottingham Crown Court in October.
Yesterday, he was given a 13- year sentence for the GBH, to serve a minimum of nine years. He received a concurrent sentence of eight years for the sexual assault.
After sentencing, Detective Constable Kayne Rukas, who led the investigation, said: "Robinson is a dangerous predator who has shown no remorse for the violent and cruel attack. He put his victim through further trauma by making her endure a public trial, where she had to relive the horrifying events of that night.

"He launched a vicious attack on her. Passers-by who were clearly concerned for the woman were warned off by him.
"The victim has showed remarkable strength and bravery throughout this ordeal and I hope she is now able to rebuild her life in the knowledge that her attacker is exactly where he belongs."
Robinson's trial was told he met his victim in Alfreton Road, Radford, after she spoke to him about a man in a car who would not leave her alone one night last June.
She got chatting to Robinson and they walked off and had a drink behind some shops.
After a while, 27-year-old Robinson, of Basford Road, Basford, tried to kiss her neck and asked her for sex but she refused, his trial heard.
He suddenly leapt down some steps and attacked her, punching her and knocking her unconscious with a brick.
She came round to find herself at the top of the steps being sexually assaulted. She told him she needed a doctor and ran down the steps to raise the alarm.
Robinson ran away, but was arrested later after a police officer recognised him from CCTV footage.
