MICHAEL Wilson, 30, of Orchard Grove, Arnold, admitted stealing copper piping and taps from a pub. Magistrates in Nottingham heard the offence happened at The Gregory, in Ilkeston Road, Radford, between April 11 and April 14 this year. Wilson was granted conditional bail to return to court on September 20 for sentencing.

NICHOLAS Gordon-Brown, 48, of Endsleigh Gardens, Edwalton, has been fined £500 for speeding over 30mph in Colwick. Nottingham Magistrates' Court heard the offence happened on September 24 last year and Gordon-Brown entered a guilty plea. As well as the fine, he has been ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and costs of £35. No totting up disqualification was imposed due to mitigating circumstances. No separate penalty was imposed for a second offence, which he admitted, on December 15 last year. Gordon-Brown was using a mobile phone when driving a Volvo in Colwick. He was ordered to pay £35 court costs for this offence and his licence will be endorsed with penalty points.

BRIAN Newton, 49, of London Road, Nottingham, denied using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour in Nottingham in June this year. Magistrates in Nottingham adjourned his case for a trial on November 20. He was granted unconditional bail.

REBECCA Bispham, 24, of Oakham Close, Top Valley, admitted assaulting a man and woman in Bestwood Park on September 2 this year. She also pleaded guilty to damaging a garden ornament, worth £200, which belonged to the assault victims. She is on conditional bail to return to Nottingham Magistrates' Court on September 25.

CHRISTOPHER Coveney, 24, of Besecar Avenue, Gedling, has been fined £110 for drink-driving. He was in a Ford Ka in Hood Street, Sherwood, on August 24 this year, Nottingham Magistrates' Court heard. He had 62 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, when the legal limit is 35. After he entered a guilty plea, he received the fine and a requirement to pay a £15 victim surcharge and court costs of £85. He was banned from driving for 17 months.
