Man from The Meadows jailed and banned from Nottingham streets after threatening staff at city centre bar
A 49-year-old man who threatened staff at a Nottingham bar has been jailed and banned from a number of city centre streets.
Desmond Anthony Bryan, 49, of Arkwright Walk, was refused entry to Revival Bar on Market Street in early 2011, but came back on several occasions to argue with door staff.
He threatened certain members of staff, making threats of violence and on once occasion was found to be in possession of a knife.
In February this year, he was arrested and charged with putting a person in fear of violence.

In March he was arrested again for being in possession of a bladed article in a public place.
Both incidents occurred outside Revival Bar.
On November 5, Bryan was convicted of both counts at Nottingham Crown Court
He was sentenced to two and half years in jail and a five year Restraining Order of which prohibits him from directly contacting a certain member of staff at the bar and stops him from going onto Market Street, Upper Parliament Street, Wollaton Street and Goldsmith Street during the hours of 6pm and 6am.
Councillor Norris, Portfolio Holder for Community Safety said: “Community Protection sought the order to offer the required protection to staff and customers of the bars due to the level of threats and abuse that staff members witnessed. The prohibited streets within the order provide further protection to staff at nearby bars and pubs who also witnessed Bryan’s anti-social behaviour.”
