Magpies cannot sell best players if club is ambitious, says Ince
NOTTS County cannot sell their best players if they are ambitious said the Magpies' boss Paul Ince today, as Derby County target one of the club's star men, Ben Davies.
Ince is desperate to keep Davies at Meadow Lane and insists the Rams have not tabled a bid for the 29-year-old attacking midfielder, but admits the Magpies' board might decide to sell if they receive an irresistible offer from the Championship club.

"I don't know how we stand financially and if we have got to sell our best players," said Ince. "It would be a shame because we are trying to build and take this club forward and you can't do that without your best players.
"Ben is a fantastic player, he's a great pro, he's playing well and, as far as I am concerned, nothing is going to happen. I want Ben at this club.
"But every player is for sale if the price is right. It's not for me to decide. It is for Jim (chief executive Jim Rodwell) and the chairman (Ray Trew) to decide.
"If we need to get money into the club we might need to do it, but it's not my decision.
"It would be a massive loss."
Derby boss Nigel Clough has said the two clubs are in talks over Davies.
"They have come out without putting an offer in for him and it's not right," added Ince. "It just unsettles the lad and starts messing about with what we are trying to do.
"It annoys me because they shouldn't be doing it. Unless they are going to put their money where their mouth is they should not be trying to turn my players' heads."
Magpies' striker Craig Westcarr is also thought to be attracting interest and Ince revealed he has had phone calls about players other than Davies.
