A No1 contenders match in the UFC heavyweight division between Incredible Hulk-alike Shane Carwin and Cain 'The Terminator' Velasquez has been pencilled in for the UFC 104 card, at the Staples Center, Los Angeles, on October 24.

Both Carwin and Velasquez are unblemished as professionals. Carwin at 11-0, comes off a first round knockout of Gabriel Gonzaga while Cain is a steady 6-0, after a brutal punishment beating of Cheick Kongo at UFC 99.

The clash of unbeaten heavyweight prospects will serve as main support to mercurial Brazilian Lyoto 'The Dragon' Machida's first defence of the 205lb belt he unceremoniously ripped from the grasp of 'Sugar' Rashad Evans in May.

Machida's opponent will be former Chute Boxe star and PRIDE standout Mauricio 'Shogun' Rua.

Despite his pre-fight claims that he would stand and trade strikes with Bob 'The Beast' Sapp, former WWE star Bobby Lashley fought smart.

In the main event of FFI's 'Ultimate Chaos', the unbeaten Lashley took down former K-1 and PRIDE favourite Sapp in the opening seconds and smashed away with well-disciplined ground-and-pound until the big man had no choice but to tap at the 3:17 mark of round one.

Fighting out of the well respected American Top Team, home of such luminaries as Gesias 'J.Z.' Calvancante, Thiago Alves and Sengoku middleweight champ Jorge Santiago, Lashley is now 4-0, with three first-round stoppages.

Tuesday night saw DEEP 42: Impact take place at Korakuen Hall, Tokyo. At the top of the bill, EliteXC exile Riki Fukuda won a rematch against Yuichi Nakanishi to claim the DEEP middleweight title by split decision.

Grabaka's Fukuda, who holds wins over the likes of Ryuta Sakurai (twice) and Murilo 'Ninja' Rua, lost a UD to Nakanichi in the final of DEEP 35's middleweight tournament.

Also on the DEEP card, Dream and K-1 Hero's veteran Kazuyuki Miyata won a majority decision over Grabaka's Takeshi Yamazaki, R-Blood's Shooto and DEEP mainstay Ryuta Sakurai fought to a majority draw with a tired and ring-worn Hiromitsu Kanehara and Toshikazu Iseno ground-and-pounded his way to a verdict over BJJ specialist Kleber Koike.

It's an old cliche, that a lot of fighters who are passionate about the game say that it's all about the competition, that they would fight even if they weren't getting paid.

Well, on Sengoku's August 6 show, Grabaka standout Kazuo Misaki WILL fight for nothing, save honour, against PRIDE and UFC veteran Kazuhiro Nakamura.

Misaki was handed a three-year suspended sentence last week for attempting to flee from a police officer who had stopped him for using a mobile phone while driving.

Sengoku bosses decided to suspend the 'Grabaka Hitman' from competition indefinitely, but not until after he has faced Yoshida Dojo's Nakamura. Misaki's purse will be donated to various charities.
