Flat Des: So many subplots to Rams v Forest
Hello, Flat Des here. I thought it would be nice to team up with my friends at the Evening Post to share my thoughts on the must-see game of the FA Cup fourth round – Derby County versus Nottingham Forest.
What a season it's been so far for Forest. After a somewhat rocky start, it looks as though the arrival of Billy Davies has seen the Reds finally hit form, with wins against Charlton and Plymouth in recent weeks.

So what's in store for 2009? Can Forest continue their winning ways and begin climbing the table? Can they continue to surprise by going from strength-to-strength in the FA Cup, and show that the outstanding win against Manchester City was not just a one off?
Forest can certainly take heart from the performance they put in against City, and proved that when it comes to the likes of Messrs Robinho, Richards and Wright-Phillips, there's no substitute for good old-fashioned graft and determination to help you overcome a tough opponent.
So to this week's game, showing exclusively live on Setanta Sports 1. Forest line up against local rivals Derby County, as the Rams look to prove something to their new manager Nigel Clough.
In addition to regional pride, the match will feature an extra pinch of spice courtesy of the historic Clough name that has associations with both clubs, but resonates nowhere more so than in Nottingham.
Either way this fixture has all the ingredients for a great game.
FA Cup achievements have been a distant memory for the Reds over the past few years, and they have to look back as far as 1991 for their last successful cup run.
In that year they reached their only FA Cup Final under Brian Clough and came up against a Tottenham Hotspur side that featured Paul Gascoigne and Gary Lineker.
Unfortunately Forest lost 2-1 on a day that saw an inconsolable Des Walker put the ball into his own net in extra time.
As has been the case with many games down the years, there's no doubt that this years FA Cup will provide some incredible footballing action and some lasting memories. And maybe it will also give Forest fans something to cheer about come May 30.
