LINBY kept the pressure on early Senior Division leaders Wollaton with a convincing 5-1 win over Gedling Southbank.

Matt Balm (2), Pete Gamble, Simon Martin and Tom Campbell grabbed the goals to close the gap to only three points at the top of the table.

Boots Athletic and Cotgrave also took advantage of Wollaton's free weekend with wins over Attenborough and Keyworth.

Richard Jackson put Boots ahead at half time with a tidy finish from 18 yards. Scott Peach then doubled the lead after excellent work from Gareth Rees and Jack Smith added a third, converting a Rees corner.

Cotgrave made an excellent second-half comeback against Keyworth, who had led through first half goals from Matt Webster and Alex Woolwich. But Lee Penley came off the bench to score two late goals in addition to an earlier Paul Nichols strike to give Cotgrave all three points.

Bilborough Pelican maintained their unbeaten start to the season but were held to a home draw by a stubborn Magdala side, Matt Eastwood's effort was cancelled out by a Mark Curry goal for Magdala, who continue their solid form.

Champions, Caribbean Cavaliers may have kick-started their season with their second consecutive victory, goals from Perkins, Joseph and Evans helping Cavs to defeat Hucknall Rolls Leisure 3-1.

At the other end of the table, Ruddington remain bottom and winless, going down 2-1 to fellow strugglers Kimberley MW, Robbie May and Jake Fisher goals giving Kimberley just their second win of the season.

Clifton also continued their poor start, losing 2-0 to Awsworth Villa, a Mitchell Scott brace helped Awsworth stay clear of the relegation zone.

Basford chalked up their second consecutive win, 3-1 against Notts Police, Adam Palmer (2) and John Manders on the scoresheet. Gary Mercer with the consolation goal for Police, who now have no win in five outings.

In Division One, Bulwell stayed top of the table as a Don Lozcalso hat-trick wasn't enough for Basford Res to take anything from the game. Rocky Hastings replied with three of his own while Darren Spencer (2), Dwayne Wood and Simon Betts completed the scoring in a 7-3 goal feast.

Wollaton Res were in the goals and climbed to third in the table, putting eight past the leaky Bilborough Town defence, two apiece for Ben Cheetham, Kyle Crofts and prolific Anthony Fragola, who topped the 100-goals mark in the league. Richard Bradley and Paul Marcowski were also among the scorers.

There were also wins for Gedling Southbank Res, Underwood Villa and Matrixgrade, the latter beating Kimberley MW Res, thanks to goals from Buck, McMorran and Ramsey.

Kimberley continue to struggle, pointless at the bottom of the table, Matt Walker with the consolation goal for them.

Gedling jumped to second with a hard-fought win over Clifton Res, Terry and Hyans goals giving Gedling three points and Underwood Villa beat Greenwood Meadows 4-3, to move above their opponents in the table. Relegated Sandhurst shared the points as they travelled to Cotgrave CW Res.
