Lewis McGugan strike secures fourth consecutive win for Nottingham Forest
A late goal from Lewis McGugan finally broke the resolve of nine-man Ipswich Town and helped Nottingham Forest notch their fourth straight win.
Billy Davies' side moved up into seventh place in the Championship table, just two points behind Brighton in the last of the play-off places, following a 1-0 win.
But they were made to work hard by Mick McCarthy's side, despite the fact that Ipswich played the final 20 minutes with two fewer players.
Lee Martin's red card for an elbow on Henri Lansbury in the 40th minute was followed by another for Richard Stearman, after he collected a second yellow for raising an arm in a challenge with Andy Reid in the 70th minute.

Ipswich, led by former Forest skipper Luke Chambers, showed impressive resolve, limiting Forest's opportunities.
But substitute McGugan finally ended their resistance in the 84th minute with a driven, low shot that beat Stephen Henderson with the aid of a deflection.

“Good afternoon fellow tricky tree's, would like to appaulogise to my 100k+ twitter followers but i have been in mauritus for the last 2 weeks getting some sun on my back while the builders have been fitting my new swimming pool. any way im back now so loads of tips to come before the end of the season.
Think Billy has got it bang on with dropping sharp(i have been screaming for our previous manager to do it all season) he is not prolific and need 30 chances to convert 1 blackstock and cox a far better option.
It makes you think if we had megson or king billy at the start of the season we would be in the auto promotion spots now.
NOT THE SORT OF GUY TO SAY I TOLD YOU SO BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT I TOLD YOU SO.
In king Billy we trust
in the new owners we do not trust
in FC we did not trust
in MA we did not not trust
in SOD we did not trust”

“There is a saying in football. Win ugly.!
Last night we won ugly, and if we do it in TEN more games, starting with Wolves at the CG on Saturday, then "King" Billy is taking us to a THIRD Championship play-off campaign.
( I'm not even thinking about automatic- 12 pts behind Watford is to much to make up)-
Here's the run in.
Home
Wolves-Saturday Saturday 9th March
Brighton( The BIG ONE.!) Saturday 30th March
Blackpool-Saturday 6th April
Barnsley-Saturday 20th April
Festa-Saturday 4th May
Away
Hull- Saturday 16th March
Burnley-Easter Monday- 1st April
Cardiff-Saturday 13th April
Boro-Tuesday 16th April
Millwall-Saturday 27th April
30 points at stake.
Everything to play for.
As i walked up a misty London Road last night to my car on Station Street, a text came through
to me from my workmate Bob, who had just got back in his house from a week's holiday in the
Canary Islands-The taxi driver from East Midlands airport had the match on his radio, so Colin and John kept him company on his was to Chilwell. it was only reaching his house that he got the news that Lewis's deflected shot had got us the three points.
We won "ugly" Al was his comment.
Yes- Bob -We did.!
The Billy Bandwagon rolls on to Saturday against Wolves.
13 points from 15 since he came back to us.-It's mindblowing.!
U REDSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS”

“To early to say owt about playoffs as we have to play most of the team's above us, not saying that it wouldn't be nice but I'm just being realistic. Enough of that it was nice to wipe that smile off MMc face cos I personally am glad he didn't get the job( don't like him ) not a pretty performance as someone mentioned but another welcome 3pts and 3rd clean sheet on the trot I'm looking forward to Saturday now I hope we can keep it goin cos I'd love to go on a run like watford has
