Letter: Don't shut baths
I WOULD just like to express my disgust at the proposed closure of Victoria Baths on April 1, 2010.
The move comes despite the fact the city council currently has no approval plans for development and no planning permission to demolish the existing building which would mean, if they succeed, the current leisure centre could be lost forever and there would be nowhere for the local community to go.
Nottingham City Council needs to be persuaded to change its mind.
If the closure happens, I would have to catch two buses to use another leisure centre within the Nottingham City Council area as my nearest one would be Carlton Forum Leisure Centre, which is run by Gedling Borough Council.
As a result, I would be unable to use my Citycard to get a discount and it would cost me more to swim there.
