Letter: Animal testing
On March 11 all cosmetic testing on animals was stopped. But there is a catch. Three types of cosmetic ingredient testing on animals across the world, for products made and sold in Europe until March 2013, when the second part of the ban is enforced, will still take place. That means four more years of agony for the animals.
The British Union for the abolition of vivisection believes no animal should suffer for cosmetic products.
They can be contracted at 16a Crane Grove, London N78NN or at www.buav.org
You can check up which companies are cruelty free on their website and also in their "little book of cruelty free" which is available from them. The companies they endorse have a flying rabbit on their products, the BUAN logo.
The Co-op and Marks & Spencers are two of the companies which they endorse.
