Leisure centre 'one step closer' to improvements
A LEISURE centre in Arnold has moved a step closer to being improved.
Gedling Borough Council assured residents earlier this year it would keep open Arnold Leisure Centre – including the Bonington Theatre – after it was threatened with closure under the previous administration.

Great facilities: Councillor Darrell Pulk.
Now, the council has appointed architects to explore the best options for the refurbishment of the pool and theatre.
Watson Batty Architects will carry out an appraisal on what is possible on the site, the priorities and costs and will report their findings towards the end of the year.
Councillor Darrell Pulk, portfolio holder for leisure and culture at Gedling Borough Council, said: "It will bring us one step closer to knowing what the future holds for these two great community facilities."
