LEADERS Clifton Village will face a big test of their title credentials following their unexpected defeat at Mansfield Hosiery Mills last week.

That loss saw Papplewick and Caythorpe, who both won, reduce their lead to only two points so when visitors Wollaton arrive this weekend there will be a lot of interest around the clubs.

Wollaton are well capable of producing the goods on their day and the pressure is certainly on Clifton to respond as they look to the likes of Alex Hales, Liam Andrews and Richard Harris to deliver the goods

Hosiery Mills are away to second-placed Papplewick and will be eager to create another upset but it would be quite a feat as the home side are on a run and have only one goal in mind – top spot.

And with big guns Stuart Law and Phil DeFreitas firing, they have every chance.

Caythorpe face a tough task if they are to maintain their challenge when they travel to fourth-placed defending champions West Indian Cavaliers, also winners last week and now ominously threatening the top three.

At the other end of the table. bottom-placed Plumtree are hosts to Kimberley and will want to better their poor performance at Caythorpe last week where they were bowled out for 83.

Their squad is at full strength, things are going to come together sometime and Kimberley, who have also struggled with their form this season, will not want to be the victims this weekend.

Likewise, Farnsfield are at home to Attenborough and neither will want to give any points away as they are both battling to lift themselves clear of the relegation places, which gives this game all the makings of a real nail-biter.

A good mid-table battle is also in the making as Welbeck make the short trip to Cuckney. Both sides are playing well, a high scoring contest is on the cards and the result is not an easy call.
