Knifeman jailed for stabbing four men
A KNIFEMAN who left four men with horrific injuries has been jailed for a minimum of nine years.
Daniel Massey cut one man's throat, stabbed through another's man face and stabbed a third man five times while on a night out in Leeds.
He admitted attempted murder and three charges of wounding with intent at Leeds Crown Court.
The court heard Massey, 20, was part of a mob which targeted the four men, all from Nottingham, at 5am on May 5.
Robert Felstead was punched by Aaron Flemming, 21, and stabbed five times by Massey. He was left with a collapsed lung and liver damage.
Mr Felstead was then kicked in the head by Ashton Campbell, 20.
Richard Wright, prosecuting, said the attack started after Ryan Justin and Michael Karim, who were among the victims, spoke to a group of women. One of the women slapped Mr Justin's face, and he then pushed her.
The group of attackers then started to form.
Mr Wright said: "Without words being spoken Massey slashed the knife across the throat of Westleigh Burke." He was left unable to speak.
The mob then targeted Mr Justin, Mr Karim and Mr Felstead.
Massey slashed Mr Justin's face, slicing through his cheek and cutting out a wisdom tooth and part of his tongue.
Massey then stabbed Mr Karim in the back and Mr Felstead in the abdomen and torso.
Judge Geoffrey Marson QC said: "You three had consumed an irresponsible and gross amount of alcohol. You, Massey, combined it with drugs."
Massey, of The Avenue, Batley, was given an indeterminate sentence for public protection and ordered to serve a minimum of nine years.
Campbell, of Tynwald Drive, Moortown, and Flemming, of Spencer Place, Chapeltown, both admitted violent disorder and assault.
Campbell was locked up for 28 months and Flemming for 32 months.

“What the world needs least of all Self Righteous Mark from Carlton, is pontificating, rumour spreading slime balls such as yourself who know absolutely nothing of the circumstances and events surrounding the crime victims who you delight in smearing. I bet you wouldn't baselessly smear and malign them like that to their faces would you brave Mark from Carlton?”

“Mark from Carlton has not got a clue! For his information we were not out of order in anyway, if we had have been then I am sure we would have been arrested seen as though the whole occasion was captured on CCTV. Moreover, at the sentencing the three men admitted having no mitigation for their actions in this respect. No number was asked for, no insult was given out and the girl was not a relation to anyone involved.
So the ¿tip for today ladz¿ is not to believe everything ¿I hear¿ and not to spread round mere gossip, hearsay at best, as if it were truth. Chinese whispers comes to mind!”

“I am not a punitive person but this is so horrific, As a twenty year old he will be 29 on release still young enough not to have matured out of this behavior. A 40 year old is far less likely to act out like this. Sadly a 20 year rec would have been more fitting, not as a punishment but to protect the public. God help anybody who crosses this 29 year olds path in 9 years time.”

“These men acted like animals, no sorry animals wouldnt act in such a mindless, thoughtless inconsiderate, barbaric, callous, cold and Uncalculating way .
Prison is to good for them.
They will get the best of entertainment, free board and food, free uniform and who knows what else the tax payer pays for.
Will they have changed when they are released early for good behaviour, I dont think for one minute they will have.”

“What scumbags these three cowards are!
They should have each got 20 years minimum for what in my opinion amounts to attempted murder if you slash someones throat, but i suppose the judge knows better????
Why can't hanging be brought back for scum like these?”

“what a bunch of thoroughly pleasant and brave boys this bunch are. Nice to know, on this day in particular, that a generations of men and women gave the best years of their lives, if not their lives, to provide a secure future for vile scum like this. Makes you proud eh?”
