HE'S gone and done it again.

Lewis McGugan was the man to come off the bench and make an impact and this time with the winner up in Hull.

And I don't know what it is but Billy Davies just knows how to get the best out of the Nottingham Forest midfielder.

McGugan is out of contract in the summer and has always been a naturally gifted footballer.

But manager after manager at the City Ground had never been able to get him to fulfil his potential on a weekly basis.

I have always said McGugan has the ability, he just needs to apply himself correctly.

And, although off the bench recently, he is getting the rewards for his hard work.

He looks hungry, he looks dangerous and the fact is, the lad is making a difference.

He scored a good goal against Wolves, got on the scoresheet against Ipswich, albeit with a huge slice of luck and again on Saturday, he popped up to seal all three points.

Davies and McGugan seem to click and the manager knows just how to work the midfielder to get him producing the goods.

The fact is, McGugan has huge belief in himself, he will shoot from anywhere.

And to be a success, you have to have that in your make-up.

He believes he can win games on his own, he believes he can score winning goals no matter if he is on the pitch for just a few minutes.

At the weekend, he was there in the right place at the right time and finished well. And you could tell how much he enjoyed it.

Now he has to keep it up – the work-rate and effort has to be there to match his ability.

If he does that, McGugan will most likely score a few more important goals between now and the end of the campaign.
