Karl Darlow has proved he can fill the void left by Lee Camp at Nottingham Forest, says Chris Cohen
KARL Darlow has already proved he can be the next Lee Camp at Nottingham Forest.
The rookie keeper had some huge shoes to fill when he was handed his first-team chance following the departure of the unsettled Camp, on a free transfer, in January.

But Chris Cohen believes the impact Darlow has made in the 11 games he has played so far have already established his credentials as the long-term first-choice keeper.
Darlow has kept three clean sheets in the last four games and was close to keeping out Wolves' only goal at the City Ground on Saturday, when he almost clawed away a header from Matt Doherty.

And Cohen, who has been a regular in front of Darlow in the Forest back four, has been impressed by his confidence.
"I said how good he could be from the start. I believed he could be as good as Campy has been for us," said Cohen. "The one question mark over a keeper who has not played a lot of first-team football is always over 'can he come and collect crosses?'.
"You can't really prepare for that too much in training, because it is not the same.
"Over the last few games Karl has been fantastic. He has probably had more of that to do than he has had shots to save.
"We all know what a great shot stopper he is, because we have seen it in training.
"The thing that has impressed the lads the most has been how he has handled himself under pressure. The Hillsborough game was the prime example, when he was coming for crosses and being commanding."
Cohen admits it was always going to be a baptism of fire for the 22-year-old, who had only gained first-team experience during loan spells with Walsall and Newport County.
"Nobody knows how they are going to cope with pressure until they are in the spotlight," said Cohen.
"The experience at Walsall will have helped him. But the big game at Wednesday, with so many people there and with the television cameras as well, he was a big presence.
"That makes me think I was right when I spoke about what a good career he could have."

“i know wes morgan well I used to coach him when he played for meadows colts when he was 12( we won league and didn't loose a game) he hated leaving forest and hes not to happy at Leicester now, but he had to be sold or we was going under, he didn't do it for the money but it was a big bonus for him, as for having him back, no it time to move on , I wish him all the best he is a true red”

“NFFC1898 - totally disagree with you about Wes bailing out! Wes has come through our academy, he's a local lad and a true Red through and through. However, there comes a point when if you are not offered a new or decent contract by an idiot ex Chief Executive, (with lack of financial support by an ex owner who only offered to guarantee existing contracts..whether understandable or not), that as a professional footballer you will not feel valued by your club, even if you are loved by your fans and we all loved big Wes!
I will give him a great reception when he returns and so will all the A-Block! It's a shame that he will not be able to join us in the Premier League, but as a Forest fan, he will be happy that we will be promoted...even at Leicester's expense!”

“LEE WHO ?????
For what Cohen is saying is that he has bags of trust in Darlow.
Darlow will now have that same trust in Cohen and the rest of the defence im sure.
Its Great Teamwork, yes TEAM-WORK.
I had almost forgotten about sulky Camp and his temper tantrums until now.
Next season, im sure Darlow will be an Improved keeper too after having the experience he is having now.
Yes, he will be and is a qaulity Keeper.”

No I don't want Wes back - he bailed out and took the easy way out to play up the road for a the Premiership bound Lestar! The team we have is giving it a great go at going for a promotion spot and IF we are successful then they deserve their chance to play at the highest level and not an ex player who has made his bed and can lie in it - tough!!”

“Darlow's quality its fantastic to see our academy producing the goods again just hope that Billy has it in him to show the same faith in Jamaal lascelles who in my opinion could hack it at any level thrown at him, I've been down a couple of times to watch the young uns and believe me we've got some bloody quality footballers coming through and long may it continue, all we have to do is let them play for us instead of the likes of mancs, @rsenal and chelski taking them and getting the credit for it, stay loyal ktf
Yooooooooooooooooooou reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeds”
