Johnson delighted to make amends
MICHAEL Johnson felt a first win of the season in League Two was written in the stars on a day the Magpies honoured Jimmy Sirrel.
The veteran defender, who was brought to Meadow Lane as a schoolboy by Sirrel, admitted it was his fault Notts fell behind to an Anthony Charles' header just six minutes into the second half.

But he was delighted to make amends with his second goal in successive games on a special day for the club.
He said: "I think it was written that we were going to win because it was Jimmy's day.
"It's a fitting tribute to him that we have got our first win of the season and I am delighted to have scored on such a special day.
"I was a schoolboy when he was here. He signed me and I have got fond memories. For me it was an emotional day. It was lovely for the fans, but the biggest thing was that we got the win for Jimmy.
"He is a legend and it was a great grounding for me to be around him as a schoolboy. Some of the stories and his wisdom has served me well throughout my career. He will live on."
Johnson said he was meant to be marking Charles at the corner from which he scored, but was caught out.
"It was my fault for conceding," he said. "I lost my marker trying to sort out our defence and the next minute I look round and the ball was in our box. I got caught out and I will hold my hands up. If we had lost it would have hurt me big time.
"I was gutted but pleased to make amends. It was a great ball from Hammy (Matt Hamshaw). He is putting in some great deliveries and if we can gamble and get the runs right we will score a lot more goals from his delivery."
With the Magpies now unbeaten in seven league games, Johnson is determined for them to maintain their momentum.
"We are on a run now," he added. "Inside the club there was no panic because we knew the win was going to come. It was just a matter of time. Now I would like to see us build on that."
