Jewel in city's crown
WE have another lottery winner in Notts.
Earlier this week Cassey Carrington and Matthew Topham from Stapleford scooped the £45 million jackpot.
And today, St Ann's allotments have been awarded £300,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund to create an interactive visitors' centre.
The allotments are a jewel in the city's crown – a beautiful, peaceful and historic site within the inner city.
A visitors' centre will be a wonderful addition. It will open the site up to many more city residents.
The development of a visitor's centre at the Attenborough Nature Reserve in Broxtowe borough is a good example.
It has provided a focal point for visitors and a hub for a whole range of activities for young, old and families.
The centre in St Ann's will be different but hopefully it will have enhance the allotments in the same way
