Along with a dazzling array of outrageous costumes, it includes the hits It's Raining Men, Say a Little Prayer, Go West, Hot Stuff and Always on My Mind.

The stage musical ran for two years in Australia before opening in the West End for a run of a further two years. The show recently played on Broadway.

Along the way, it has won numerous awards including the Olivier and Tony Awards for Best Costume Design.

Jason Donovan's career started in the TV soap Neighbours alongside his then-girfriend Kylie Minogue.

The pair moved to Britain to launch successful pop careers, and Jason sold over 13 million albums.

While Kylie developed into one of the world's biggest music stars, he became a theatre regular. West End credits include the title role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Caractacus Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

His touring credits are The Sound of Music, The Rocky Horror Show and Sweeney Todd.

Priscilla Queen of the Desert runs at the Royal Concert Hall from July 22 to 27. Tickets are £15 to £37.50, call 0115 989 5555 or go to www.trch.co.uk.
