Peterborough chairman, Darragh MacAnthony has taken to Twitter to discuss Nottingham Forest's interest in George Boyd.

The Posh chairman said in a discussion with two Forest fans on the social media website that Forest 'came back with a worse offer than their first' for midfielder, George Boyd.

MacAnthony labelled the Red's first bid for his playmaker as 'derisory' and suggested that their second offer was even lower.

He tweeted: "I'd say you [Nottingham Forest] are trying to buy a Bentley by offering the money a Lada would cost."

“Wow, this guy MacAnthony (Peterborough Chairman) is really professional isn't he? Discussing club business with a total stranger on Twitter? Unbelievable!”

“The first thing that needs sorting is who are our best two central defenders because on Saturday they were awful Collins has been dreadful I know he is captain but should be dropped, we need another centre half to put pressure on the existing two.”

    “AJM66.......

The problem is that, with Forest in its present situation in the "Championship", Good , Qaulity players, or Prem Players, dont want to make the step down, so to speak.
If Forest were in the Prem, then we would more than likely get Premier players in.
The owners know this im sure.
They are doing it the sensible way IMHO in their purchases. The problem being WHO they purchase and who Macleish wants.
Ive got to admit that some of the purchases are very strange indeed. !”

“with mcleish stating he wants 4 or 5 players and only so far signing darius henderson for free, with about three days left , he is running out of time .
have these owners really got the money they say they have...? we will see in 72 hours or so.
i predict no stellar signings, just frees and loans ,then you forest ans will see how you have been conned by these arabs .”

“Collins seems to comfortable for my liking. A bit like Camp, no competition. I think AM will solve this issue very quickly.”

“The problem is as rich as our owners are, they're not rich enough to compete with the Ambrovichs' of this world . To get into the Premiership and stay there its Premiership, Serie A etc. money that you need to spend. That is millions for players and 40-50k plus a week in wages. Like it or not average to slightly above average players don't do it. I've been a red supporter all my life and that will never change but we do have to swallow a bit of the realistic pill here folks. At this moment in time we are an average to just above mid table side and none of the players mentioned are going to change that. I am happy that we aren't fighting for survival and if we get to the playoffs its a bonus. That would make us better than last year (which was terrible) and at least we have the added chance of being well above the SHEEP so its not all bad!!!!.....KTF........COYRs.”

“by buddybuonny we dont need him (boyd)
you are correct m8, we need a solid defence first this needs sorting, collins our captain has done nothing to impress me this season yet, the new right back jara looks like hes got somthing to offer the team, elliot ward also is making a mark on the team, our weak links at the back are danny collins and dan harding imo, collins is ment to be leading our line well if he is not up to scratch how are other defenders ment to look up to and take inspiration from him?
im not saying mr collings is useless im saying its time he stepped up and started to lead, he is our captain for pete sake, he gotto have some good qualties he did play his trade for stoke in the premirship, i do think he can cut it in this division time he started to show it then i think we will be more solid at the back”

“If we are looking to up the pace through out the team.....than Boyd will be out of place like last time he was here......Where does he enhance the team

Why are we looking at players we don't need......wide men and pace is needed......and before that the defensive issuse need sorting”
