Three mums told the Post of their horror after their children became victims of the hateful campaign.

All three profiles have since been taken down by Facebook and Notts Police are investigating.

Campaign group Smile, Stop Hate Crime called the abuse "totally unacceptable".

Speaking about a comment aimed at a disabled child, a spokesman for the disability charity Scope said: "We know that it can be really upsetting for disabled people and their families when this word is used in a derogatory fashion."
