THE inquest into the death of a woman killed in a car crash near Edwinstowe has opened.

Margaret Jones, 68, of Sandbach, Cheshire, died at King's Mill Hospital from multiple injuries she received in the crash on the A6075 at about 9am on Sunday March 7.

Audrius Mickevicius, 40, a Lithuanian national, appeared before Retford magistrates on Tuesdaycharged with causing death by dangerous driving.

Mickevicius, of Newark Road, Ollerton, has been remanded until March 23, when he is scheduled to appear at Nottingham Crown Court.

The inquest was opened and adjourned at Nottingham Coroner's Court so criminal proceedings can be dealt with at crown court first.
