A 21-YEAR-OLD man, who was found at the bottom of his stairs, died from a fatal head injury, an inquest heard.

Matthew Frost had Asperger's syndrome and epilepsy, and lived at an Eden Supported Housing site for vulnerable adults in High Street, Mansfield Woodhouse.

Mr Ian Hill, who works for Eden, told Nottingham Coroner's Court that he had known Mr Frost for three weeks. He said he visited Mr Frost on the evening of January 7, and Mr Frost told him he'd had a fit during the day. He said he left Mr Frost's flat at 11pm and went to bed in an adjoining flat for carers. He found Mr Frost lying at the bottom of the stairs next day.

A postmortem revealed he died from a fractured skull. Assistant deputy coroner for Notts, Mairin Casey, recorded a verdict of accidental death and gave her condolences.
