IT is the only venue in the city where you can see improvised comedy.

Tonight, The Art Organisation in Station Street once again hosts the MissImp (Mission: Improbable) troupe and their show entitled Improv Scorcher.

"This is a fun thing we all do alongside our day jobs which vary from IT trainer to science teacher to PhDs in mediaeval German to unemployed," says MissImp's Nick Tyler.

The troupe was set up a decade ago, but they only started performing their shows in Nottingham this year.

"Think of Whose Line Is It Anyway? with local performers," says Nick.

"The audience get involved by devising the most challenging and hilarious rules and restrictions for the sketches."

But don't fear the on-stage humiliation.

"We require the audience's enthusiasm, support and involvement," says Nick. "In return you'll get high-energy, often quite silly, sometimes very clever comedy scenes from all of our players. We may have planned the games we're going to play, but the scenes are completely unrehearsed – sometimes it doesn't work. That's OK though – it is improv after all.

"It's brilliant when it goes perfectly and very funny when it fails. You can't lose."

It starts at 8pm and admission is £3 at the door.

Non-alcoholic drinks are served but patrons are free to take along their own alcohol.
