ILKESTON can stage another surge for the play-offs, says boss Kevin Wilson.

The Robins started a great run this time last year that led to them winning the Evo-Stik First Division South play-offs.

They are 12th in the Premier Division with 15 games left and Wilson thinks lightning can strike twice.

"This time last year we started to mount a run of results that got us into the play-offs and I believe we can do it again," he said.

Ilkeston face Ashton United at the New Manor Ground tomorrow (3pm) and Wilson is confident they can get back to winning ways, after losing against Stafford Rangers and drawing with Stocksbridge Park Steels.

They beat Ashton 3-0 away back in November and that sparked their best run of the season.

"That victory was where it all started for us in terms of the good run of form and our progression up the league," added Wilson.

"We've got to move on from last weekend and keep looking ahead. The simple fact is we've lost only two out of the last 14 games and that is excellent form.

"We've plenty to work on of course but we're more than capable."

It was two points dropped against Stocksbridge, who are languishing in 21st place in the table and Wilson said: "It was frustrating as our goalkeeper barely dirtied his knees during the 90 minutes and yet we still dropped two points – that was the sort of game it was. But we've got to try to take the positives from it, in that we didn't lose."
