“People should give themselves plenty of time when planning their journeys and take lots of care when out driving on untreated areas.

“Those who do travel be sure to be in tune with your local council and the Highways Agency to hear if their routes have been affected.”

“Its very easy to prepare, throw a folding shovel, sleeping bag, a small pack of rock salt, spare warm clothing, pair of good boots, and a few snacks and a flask into your car. Charge your mobile and if its PAYG ensure its got plenty of credit on it, and notify someone of your journey and ring them when you arrive.

Not difficult really, a little preperation can save considerable heartache and issues.”
