DERBY County striker Rob Hulse believes their lively approach to the match was the key to beating Nottingham Forest.

The Rams scored after five minutes and then Hulse doubled the lead 81 seconds after the break as they coasted to a 3-1 win.

And Hulse, who has scored in the last three matches between the two clubs, said: "Derbies are always fiery affairs and we started both halves the better side and that put us in good stead.

"We started the first half well then they came into it but we started the second half well and that took the wind out of their sails.

"We are playing some nice stuff, creating chances and scoring goals. We have always been capable of doing it, we just have to put the consistency together and there are still loads of games to go.

"We will keep improving and you never know where it can go

"I was pleased to get the win. It is four on the bounce now and we are buoyant. We can make it difficult for ourselves at times but here we did well. We were the better side and were a bit disappointed to let the goal in."

“Of course - ESPECIALLY when its Derby! but its easy to be glorious in victory - didnt hear too many derby fans giving credit to Forest (recently promoted from div 3 ) for the two 1-1 draws ( against a relegated prem team) at your place earlier in the season either!!!!
enjoy while you can mate ...oh and stop diving!”

“Daz, I bet you are one of those Forest supporters who are incapable of giving credit to the opposition, especially when it's your neighbouring team from down the A52. Even your sad little manager said Derby where the better team and deserved the win. Maybe the ref was poor but not as poor as Forest who will have to play better football if they are to avoid the drop.”

“3 set pieces - rubbish defending - basic stuff not done well oh and a good dive by hulse for the penalty - yep there was a silly/ uneccessary push by perch but not enough to send big strapping hulse flying!! poor ref from start to finish!”
