Househunting for Sven: What Notts has to offer
SVEN Goran Eriksson has confirmed he intends to make Notts his home. So, what kind of lifestyle awaits the bespectacled Swede?
We cannot, for example, picture Sven swinging from the Crazy Shake at the Goose Fair, eating mushy peas and mint and shouting "Ey up me duck" at passers-by.

CHOICES, CHOICES: Sven might fancy this £2m home in Edwalton, while buying Paul Smith suits (below left) and dining at Sat Bains (below). Right: Tiffany Tyler said he will enjoy Nottingham life
No, his living habits are more likely to be those befitting a well-tanned, well-travelled European sophisticate. "I guess he's very into fine dining," says Amanda Lester, a consultant at Big Table PR, who is married to ex-Forest forward Jack.
"I would always recommend Chinos; it has a long celebrity guest list. Also classics like World Service, Iberico and, of course, Michelin-starred Sat Bains."
On his arrival in Nottingham, Sven will find himself settling into an already-established social scene.
Tiffany Tyler, 22, girlfriend of Forest player Robert Earnshaw, said she expected Sven would instantly feel at home.
"I've only lived in the city for ten months," said Tiffany, the current Miss Nottingham, "but already I feel at home.
"The footballers and their families have dinner together and go out together. I've made some really good friends. Robert and I really like going to Chino Latino and Sinatras."
The first question Sven addresses, so to speak, will be where to live.
"The kind of houses he'll be looking at will be in the £1m plus bracket," adds Amanda. "He may look at The Park but I think he'll want somewhere slightly further away from the city centre."
City estate agents have a raft of properties in mind to recommend.
Robert Billson, of Savills, suggested the penthouse apartment at The Arena. "You have spectacular views of Nottingham Castle. You can't see the football ground but it's only a short distance away," he says. "It is the best penthouse we have ever had, and it's on at £595,000."
If Sven is looking for something slightly more secluded, Robert suggests The Manor House at Epperstone, priced at £1.4m.
Two million would buy Sven a beautiful home in Melton Road, Edwalton – on the cover of this week's FindaProperty. Robert said: "He could go for a swim at David Lloyd and be a stone's throw from the ground."
He also suggests "funky Plumtree", where The White House is for sale at £950,000. If Sven is seeking a break from his stressful, high-earning role, he can always take a trip to Thoresby Hall, one of Notts' luxury retreats.
It has a hammam steam room, ice cave, hydro spa, relaxation lounge and a Rhassoul mud treatment, in which you and a partner are allocated a private room where you can apply mud to each other. It cleans out toxins and leaves the skin silky-smooth.
"We would welcome Sven to Thoresby," says a spokesman. "And we have a fantastic Italian restaurant here. We suspect Sven likes Italian food, since his former girlfriend is Italian."
Paul Smith and James Bell were two other famous Notts brands which welcomed the manager.
"We do made-to-measure suits in finest English cloth," said Richard Faulks, manager of James Bell.
Shuropody, in Wheelergate, said they would be pleased to supply the ex-England boss with his famous stacked shoes. "He can come to us," says manager Barbara Woodliffe. "If his shoes are deep enough, we could make him a special insole to add height."
Finally, we cannot make a secret of Sven's other interest... the fairer sex.
"Maybe he's heard the rumour there are two women for every man in Nottingham!" joked Amanda.

“The gist of Sven's message is that he's looking forward to meeting Nottingham's ladies down at Reflex/Flares every Friday night.”

“Sven wouldn't use a toilet on Nottingham let alone live here. He'll bring his own portaloo and then rent it out as a desirable residence to one of those Bulwell yoofs.”
