KIRTON'S Ben Holmes hit a hot streak at Little John Lakes with successive ton-up weights.

He won Saturday's 25-pegger with 124-5 of carp to 5lb on pellet feeder at Maid Marian 14.

And on Tuesday he used paste to good effect at Robin Hood 9 for 121-15. Steve Keyworth was a distant second with 69-8.

Keyworth won a cracking, close match on Maid Marian with 84-1, at 7m and down the side, at peg 12.

Terry Cheeseman was second with 83-6 from Eddie Buxton on 81-15.

Simon McCormac topped the ton on his way to victory in the Nottm AA match at Shearsby Valley Lakes.

McCormac, on peg 26, found carp close to the bank under surface scum, catching all match on surface fished bread with pole in the margins.

Steve Holbrook, on peg 22, took second place with 78-7 of carp on short pole and pellet in the margins.

John Johnson won the Disabled & 60+ match on Maunside at Sherwood Forest Farm Park.

Johnson, on peg 1, fished pole and double caster for eight carp and orfe for 27-7.

John Pilmore, on peg 6, had a few larger carp, plus a few orfe, on pole and paste for 23-6.

Cool conditions and clear water made for a harder match than anticipated in the Members evening match on Newlands No3, with carp featuring more in weights.

Andy Reid, on peg 14, fished pole and paste at 11m for three carp and a couple of bream for 15-3.

Second place went to Dave Nicholls on peg 4 with a 14-12 of carp, skimmers and roach on pole and pellet fished shallow.

John Johnson took third with 11-9 of roach, rudd and skimmers on pole and maggot fished shallow.

Carp to 10lb came out in the Members match at a hot Strelley Pond. Andy Cole caught three carp, plus a few roach and skimmers, on corn, for 25-15.

Gary Pilsworth, on peg 25, was second with 18-5 on pellet feeder. Third place went to Dean Barker, on peg 17, who caught two carp for 14lbs on short pole and paste.

The Wednesday Kobra Affordable Open at Dynamite Baits Makins on Lake 2 averaged 68lb per angler, with fish showing all round the lake.

Clear winner was match organiser, John Adamson with a massive 192-14 from peg A4. He fished method feeder at range throughout for 31 carp and a few bream.

Lee Westwood fished peg B17 with pellet waggler for 25 carp weighing 132-14. Doncaster's Paul Yates took third with 105-12, also on pellet waggler, from peg A6.

The following day, Avon produced an average weight of 33-6 – even though several anglers did not bother to weigh in.

Top weight fell to venue specialist Andy Findlay with 136lb from bridge peg 25. Fishing meat towards the bridge on long pole, he caught carp to 6lb.

Adam Waklyn (Preston Innovations) fished long pole tight to the island on peg 5. He also used meat bait to tempt similar size fish for 103-14.

The surface ripple seemed to spur the fish back feeding again at Daiwa Hallcroft and Jamie Masson finished with another ton plus weight. He caught 124-6, mainly carp, shallow at island 2.

Lee Wright edged the second spot by fishing on both pellet waggler and pole with paste at island 12. He landed carp to 8lbs and bream to 3lbs for 66-12 .

Nick Speed also topped three figures in Friday's tournament League match. He weighed 131-9 of carp and skimmers on meat shallow at Moat island 14.

Andy Sellars was second with 100-11, taken shallow at island 20, while Lee Hewison included over 50lbs of skimmers in his 69-5 at island 23.

Brian Sullivan won Thursday's veterans league match from Bridge outer peg 40. He fished meat up in the water for 58-8 of carp and bream.

Graham Lilley won a well-attended Sunday open with 96-4 at Moat 26. With plenty of fish cruising, he caught mainly carp shallow on the pole at 13m, feeding hemp and luncheon meat

The second round of the Long Eaton Federation Summer League was fished in the Dockholme Lock section of a clear Erewash Canal.

Mark Parker lost one tench in the weed, but the three he landed (to caster) together with about 3lb of small fish, gave him a winning weight of 8-14.

Pete Allwood concentrated on the small fish with squatt and pinkie, and caught over 200 for 8-1. Lee Morley took some quality roach on hemp seed for 7-1 and third.

Peg 21 again produced the winner in round 6 of the Gateford Angling Supplies Summer League on Holmedale at Sherwood Forest Farm Park.

Derby's Richard Wood fished pole and paste down the margin for over 20 carp to 9lb in his total of 82-8.

Gary Scott made the most of the end peg draw fishing the pole and meat out and down the margin for 78-15 – ten carp to 15lb. Overall, Dave Madin leads on 14 points from Alan Warren (17) and Mick Langton (18).

It was Warren's turn to draw Holmedale 21 in the Sunday evening four-hour open and he cashed in with 88-7. He fished pole and worm for carp to 7lb. Neil Wilkinson weighed 77-10 of carp to 6lb on pole and paste.
