Holders Clumber go through
THE weather again had an effect on many games but three out of four of the quarter final ties in the Premier Section's Majestic Trophy were played.
Holders Clumber were made to work all the way by Sims Metal, from Division One, before going through 5-3, thanks to a hat-trick from Cashell Walters.
It was also tightly contested between Premier side Chesterfield Arms and their Division One counterparts, Cotgrave PFC, before a couple of goals from Ross McCaughey and one from Carl Wilson saw Arms through.
The most thrilling tie was at Half Moon, where Cain Matthews netted a pair for the hosts only to be countered by two from Drew Austin, as Calverton Cherry Tree took the tie to extra time. The visitors finally edged it 5-4 on penalties.
Only one game survived in the Premier Section, Premier Division. Trentside closed the gap on Arnold FC to one point with a 6-2 win at Nuthall.
Trowsers overcame Stratford Haven 2-0, to move closer to leaders Calverton Cherry Tree in Division One.
And Rolls Royce Leisure drew level on points with Nottm Alumni as they beat their hosts 2-1.
Division Two leaders Crusader moved ten points clear as they overcame Wolds 4-1.
Vernon Villa and Westdale Tavern stay on the same points with a 2-2 draw.
There is no change at the bottom, where Tricolore secured their tenure with a 3-2 reverse at the hands of Station Hotel.
Hucknall Empire stay top of Division One of the Senior Section after a 3-1 win over Hudson Roofing.
Garry Fountain's hat-trick, supported by an effort from Gretton, ensured Robin Hood enjoyed the spoils over Premiere Travel.
Division Two leaders Premium Res slipped to a shock 1-0 defeat against lowly Carlton Top Spot Res after missing a last-minute penalty. It enabled The Masons to take over at the top following a ten-goal thriller.
Arndale Villa were on the receiving end of an 8-2 drubbing by Edwalton.
Bridgford Taverners were back to league action and engaged in a close encounter with Beercalona that finished 4-3 in favour of Taveners.
There was a shock at the top of Division Three, where leaders Loft in Space lost their 100% record, 3-2 to Beeston Biz.
AFC Nottingham's 5-0 stroll over Stratford Haven Res saw them close the gap on the leaders.
Grosvenor and Real Nottm produced eight goals in an enthralling encounter that ended with the latter winning by a two-goal advantage.
Basement outfit Teesdale recorded their first win of the season, 2-1 at Edwalton Res.
Lion Revived also recorded their first win since October, as goals from Coxon and Simpson met with no response from FC Sparta.
