A RADFORD-based project to help Polish people integrate into the community has been given a £299,952 grant.

Signpost to Polish Success (SPS), based at Tennyson Hall, in Forest Road West, received the money from the Big Lottery Fund.

The group, which has been running for more than six years, offers English classes, support and counselling for victims of hate crimes and discrimination, and citizenship and local knowledge sessions so that Polish immigrants understand more about local society.

People are referred to SPS by other agencies in the area and, after a one-to-one meeting, are directed to projects and activities designed to meet their needs and help them integrate further into their communities.

Mick McGrath, East Midlands regional head of the Big Lottery Fund, said: "Today's funding shows the diversity of different community groups in the East Midlands which can benefit from National Lottery good cause funding."
