TRAVELLERS departing from East Midlands Airport on Wednesday will have the chance to buy last-minute gifts for poorly children.

A Christmas Fair will be held in the departure hall in aid of the Nottingham charity When You Wish Upon A Star, which grants wishes to children with life-limiting illnesses.

People are being urged to buy a gift before the charity takes the children, their carers and family on a flight to Lapland to visit Santa Claus at 6am on Wednesday.

Long Eaton based Grand Central Chorus will be part of the entertainment fronting the fair.

Peter White, of the Chorus, said: "It's wonderful to be singing for something that will enable these children to experience a little magic in their lives."
