The boy, who cannot be identified, is alleged to have killed the woman by hitting her a number of times with a hammer before starting a fire. He denies murder but admits killing her on the basis that he lost control.
At Nottingham Crown Court yesterday, prosecutor Shaun Smith QC asked him about his internet browsing history. He said: "Yeah, I was looking at all of these. I wasn't planning a murder."
The court previously heard the boy had written stories involving killings, arrests and court cases.
