Groups which lost out on funding
THE Evening Post has learned that the following organisations were invited to bid for funding and had substantial bids subsequently rejected:
Business in the Community – a service which aims to help start up companies flourish in Hyson Green and Radford.
Co-operative CommunityAction – an award winning company offering business advice, housing support, education courses, healthy living advice and counselling.
Framework – a charity which provides housing, support, training, care and resettlement services to thousands of homeless and at risk people throughout Notts. The Evening Post understands that the bid NDC rejected was for more than £1m.
Hyson Green Youth Club – provides sport and leisure activities and is located close to Asda in Radford Road. The youth club invited architects to redesign sports facilities before they were told about their bid being rejected.
Partnership Council – founded in 1998 by NG7 residents and workers to work on community projects and tackle local issues.
