GORDON Brown and a dozen ministers are in Nottingham today for a cabinet away day.
Ministers, including Alistair Darling, Lord Mandleson and Mr Balls, will visit a number of Notts schools and community centres before a cabinet meeting in the city centre.

Evening Post columnist Joe Watts interviews prime minister Gordon Brown
It is the latest in a series of cabinet meetings to be held outside London as the Prime Minister looks to consult with different parts of the country.
As well as a series of visits across Notts, there will be a conference where cabinet ministers will discuss issues in Notts with residents.
The Prime Minister, back from the Brussels "top jobs" dinner last night, will be seeking to stress the dividing lines with the Tories he set out at the State Opening of Parliament.
Mr Brown instituted the idea of cabinet away days last year, holding the first regional cabinet since 1921 in Birmingham.
Other regional centres used for the gatherings have included Leeds, Liverpool, Glasgow, Cardiff and Newcastle.
Today's Cabinet is the first to be held since the Queen's Speech on Wednesday.

“Or, how about asking the question if Labour is still trying to put right seeds sown in the 80's? (in society, and the economy/manufacturing industry, etc!)
Anyone remember Spitting Image and the New Statesman, with Alan B'stard?
We had 18 years of Tory rule, and I for one do not have a short memory.
I'm more interested in substance than spin this forthcoming election...”

“Gay gordon won't enter into any public debate unless the questioners submit there questions in advance of the debate. What does this say about the man? this has been highlighted many many times before, especially when he has been in live television debates.
What sort of a pathetic individual is he when he has to have a team to answer questions in advance, they might as well put a tape recorder on these shows.
It shows what an idiot this man is when he dosen't know what his policies, agendas, and issues are and we believe he is competent to run a country, NO.”

“The EP tried to get a question and answer session with a good cross section of readers(around 30 as I understood it) but the powers that be limited it to 2.
And they had to be drawn from a hat from the original ones.
I think Mr Brown may just have been a little scared by the original scenario attempted by the EP.”

“Is there any truth in the rumour that by dinnertime the T/A had many volunteers, bore arms, and repelled the invaders.”
