MARK Foster is just two shots off the lead after the first round of the lead in the Maybank Malaysian Open in Kuala Lumpur.

The Worksop professional carded three birdies in a row at the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th and added four more at the 10th, 12th, 16th and 17th.

Dropped shots at the 13th and 15th saw him finish with a 67 in the humid conditions to finish alongside KJ Choi, Alejandro Canizares and Mark Haastrup.

Welsh ace Rhys Davies carded a bogey-free seven-under-par 65 to share a one-shot lead with Spain's Ignacio Garrido.

They are a shot clear of Dae-hyun Kim and Thongchai Jaidee.
