GEORGE Elokobi today insisted he is ready to win another relegation battle, after joining Nottingham Forest on loan.

The tough defender played a key role in keeping Wolves in the Premier League last season.

Elokobi has found himself a more peripheral figure at Molineux this season – and jumped at the chance to move to the City Ground until the end of the campaign.

Now the 26-year-old says he is itching to get involved in the fight to fend off the threat of relegation to League One.

"It is a similar scenario. In the last two seasons at Wolves we have been fighting to stay in the league," said Cameroon-born Elokobi.

"It is a fight I have relished.

"I love being in a battle, because I know how to handle it. I am looking forward to the challenge.

"What I have learned is that the important thing is to stay calm.

"You have to be patient; don't panic. Take things one game at a time. The next game is always the most important.

"Don't worry about what other teams are doing. Just concentrate on yourselves and what you do.

"Stick together as a team and don't get frustrated with each other, if things are not going right. If we can do that, we will be ok. I cannot wait to get started."

And Elokobi believes Forest can be confident of avoiding the drop, insisting: "There are plenty of games to be played yet, there is nothing to fear.

"The only thing you can do as players is stick together.

"And I hope the fans stick with the players as well, because things are going to improve.

"The quality here is amazing, I have played against most of the lads here during my time with Colchester and now with Wolves.

"I know a lot of them as well, so I have no doubt about the quality I see around me in the changing room.

"I am surprised to see them struggling, but I cannot explain it because I have not been part of things before now.

"But the past is the past. We have 18 games to go. That is what we have to look forward to.

"We have to take them one at a time and, if we can do that, with the quality we have in the squad, we will be fine."

I'd play gunter chambers, higg-in-bottom and elakobi across the back moussi, mcgugan and guiedeora in a triangle miller on the left finley down the middle and mcleary on the right.”

“i would go with a back four of Gunter, higgi-botty, chambers , elikobi
midfield, reid gudiara (you know what I mean), mousi and mcgugan, two up top in Miller and Blackstock.

I think dexter is our best striker but plays at his best when he is someone to take the pressure off him.”

“Not sure whether it shows what a great game football is or just how naive/stupid I am but I'm really looking forward to tomorrow's game. Team selection will be interesting and there are going to be a few disappointed players who don't even make the bench. Obviously having been brought up on football played "the Forest way" I'd love to see some free flowing, exciting, attacking play but to be honest, until safety is achieved I'd put up with any old clogging and hoofball. Relegation is too awful to contemplate but will take some avoiding.

Figaro - I'm sorry you'll never take me seriously again - you were my last hope!”

    “trrrrricky

i aggree the club should have left them up till after then game on saturday so the fans that havnt been able to get down could show there respect, i personaly feel the should at least have stayed up until Doughty's funeral, just hope the team goes out and wins on saturday in memory of Doughty, and i hope we can pull through these sad times and climb the table becuase our club should not be struggling at the foot of the table.

Hope there is a full house saturday to cheer then team on and chant Doughty's name all game as a mark of appreciation for what he has done.

The only way is up.. COYR!!”
