Gary Brazil hopes Nottingham Forest fans will back Reds in FA Youth Cup action tonight
GARY Brazil hopes fans will turn out to support Nottingham Forest's next generation of talent when they take on Bolton in the quarter-final of the FA Youth Cup tonight.
The Reds face Wanderers at the City Ground (7pm) hoping to take a step further than they did last season, when they were unluckily beaten by Premier League giants Chelsea.

And Brazil hopes the young squad, which includes Jack Blake – who has appeared on the bench for the first team this season – will be well supported on home turf.
"Of course it would be great if a few people came along to support these lads," said Brazil, the interim academy manager.

"They have done tremendously well this season and it is a great achievement for them to get this far in the competition.
"It is an interesting test for players when they find themselves playing in front of a crowd, but it is a positive experience and we have a tight group of players. They are a good bunch and they have backed each other all season."
Brazil warns Forest will face a tough test against a Bolton side that hammered Spurs 8-4 in the previous round.
"Our lads are well up for it," he said. "But it's probably the first game we have gone into as underdogs. We are going to have our work cut out."
Entry to the game is £3 for adults and £1 concessions.

“Have we ever reached the final of the Youth Cup. Remember watching us play Arsenal in the semi final second leg years and years ago when we were destroyed by a young Kevin Campbell!”

“Paul You stated this about Billy "I am quite happy to forgive Billy for his negative antics if he does not repeat them" How very gracious of you. I bet if Billy reads this he will be over the Moon! You constantly berated the guy when he was here last time when he was performing miracles with only hindrance from the powers that be at the club. You also call Billy a liar! Were has he lied? Prove it to us all.You were on this forum daily spouting Anti Billy rubbish the entire time he was at the club. You come on this forum and call me a Bully, when all I do is ridicule sick morons like you, and Redthong when they attack the club, the owners or the Manager. You and your little gang are a disgrace to NFFC. And If I am a bully, I can assure you that I will be 'bullying' you and your nasty friends until they give the people at the club a chance to succeed.
ps. How is your old mate PaulDerby these days? Thought we had forgot about your daily love-ins did you?

“PositivePaul...you state - "I am quite happy to forgive Billy for his negative antics if he does not repeat them" ***!!!
Who do you think you are to decide whether Billy should be forgiven by you?!! You arrogant prat!!
You were spouting loads of anti-Billy tosh in the past when he was sacked and now you come on these boards like a hypocrite saying that you are prepared to forgive him...and with conditions?!!
Go take a running jump off the Trent Bridge! Billy Davies needs fans like you like he needs a hole in the head! You are just a pathetic Billy-hater like RedSong/Figaro...and all the other name that headcase posts under!
Get a life! There is nothing positive about you pal!”

“Just got back after me chips, blinking cold tonight but warmed by a cracking performance from the Young Reds. Heads never went down despite being twice behind and kept stretching their defence. Some dodgy defending at times but Bolton did have quick lads up front with good movement. Our keeper looks a good lad and very confident, #4 Blake showed some quality and loved the way the #10 Ferrier worked his butt off up front pulling their defence all over the place.
Keep up the great work lads and good luck for the semis!”

“Great to see the young lads do so well. Wish I could have been there. Even though many people on here have been putting the lads down, by saying the Academy was ruined by Billy Davies. Good to see that, that is far from the case. Also good to see that they have some decent managers down there now, looking after these kids. Would like to see some progress in bringing them into the first team, once, and if the play-offs get beyond us. Amazing how the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal and the rest seem to have players ready at 16 or 17, and we seem to think we have to molly-coddle them into their mid twenties. But I assume now we have some good people in charge at the Academy, that will change for the better.

“Ladies Ladies...put your handbags down!
Well done to the kids, would love to have gone but I play footy on a weds myself. Just about lol.
Nice to her that the First team was there too, good management example again - the first team see who's waiting in the wings, the kids get encouraged by their peers. Good stuff!
Maybe Billy really is taking over full control of the football aspect as a proper old style Manager. I hope so - or maybe I'm just being nostalgic for the old days.
No matter- well done Forest youth team!”
