MORE details have emerged about the man arrested on suspicion of murdering Nottingham student Matthew Pyke.

Suspect David Heiss, 21, remains in police custody in Germany today.

New reports say Heiss is from Dauborn, one of six villages in the Hunfelden area near Limburg.

A local newspaper, The Nassauische Neue Presse, said Heiss had been working in an office-based computer job in Frankfurt around 70 kilometres from his home village prior to his arrest.

It was hoped that an extradition hearing would start in Germany on Friday, but no court appearance took place.

Instead, German police, in cooperation with their Notts counterparts, spent the day questioning Heiss.

Matthew Pyke, 20, died last Friday of stab wounds in his flat above the Orange Tree pub in North Sherwood Street, Nottingham.

He was found by his girlfriend Joanna Witton, also 20, who lived with him.

Police believe the killing may be linked to the couple's love of internet gaming, particularly a game called Advance Wars.

Fello gamer Heiss was arrested on Wednesday evening in the town of Huenfelden in the Hesse region of Germany – about 65km from Frankfurt.

He was arrested by police from Limburg an der Lahn, the nearest big town, and is believed to be in custody there.
