Two brave gambles paid dividends for boss Billy McEwan as the Stags won 3-2 at Salisbury.

He decided to throw local striker Aaron O'Connor straight back into the fray after two weeks out injured and also, when trailing at half-time, he went three up front for the second half.

Stags responded with three goals - O'Connor bagging the winner and helping set up another - and McEwan said: "We tried three up after the break and, considering what time we've had to work on it this week, I thought we adapted very well

"Playing Aaron was a bit of a gamble but it paid off for us today.
