SHOPPERS are taking advantage of free parking in Mansfield, according to the latest footfall figures for the town centre.

Pedestrian counters in the town centre found there were eight per cent more visitors in the last week of November compared to the same week last year.

The council has put the rise down to free parking periods.

Parking is free from 10am on Wednesdays and Thursdays and from 3pm on all other days.
