Former Forest player Sid Ottewell dies

FORMER Nottingham Forest player Sid Ottewell has died aged 92.

Mr Ottewell, believed to be the oldest living former Forest player, passed away on Tuesday.

The inside forward joined Forest from Luton Town in 1948 and made 32 appearances, scoring three goals, before leaving for Mansfield two years later.

Earlier in his career he had played for Chesterfield and Birmingham.and also played for Scunthorpe before retiring in 1953.

A statement from Forest said: "The club would like to extend their sincere condolences to his family and friends."
