Forest kid Freeman makes mark for Magpies
TEENAGER Kieron Freeman has made a real impression at Notts County with his strength of character and polished displays.
That is the view of Magpies first-team coach John Schofield, who has been mightily impressed with the 19-year-old defender.

Kieron Freeman has made four appearances for the Magpies so far.
The full-back has made four appearances since joining on loan from Nottingham Forest, just days after making his full Reds debut against Leicester in the FA Cup.
That came after a nine-game loan spell with Mansfield Town in the Blue Square Premier Bet which meant he played for all three senior Notts clubs in the space of two weeks.
And Schofield has been delighted with the quality performances of Freeman, who has slotted straight in at right-back.
Schofield said: "Kieron has been absolutely fantastic and if you look at all the games for us, he has done ever so well. He has given us something and really fitted in well to the dressing room."
Notts were without a game at the weekend, after their home match with Stevenage was postponed due to a frozen pitch.
But Freeman is set to line-up for Notts this Saturday at Rochdale, although his original loan is due to expire after the game.
Manager Martin Allen has already stated he wants to keep him at Meadow Lane and Schofield added: "What he also offers is he can play right-back, left-back, up one on the right or left in midfield. He gives us options and mentally the kid is tough.
"He has been brilliant and on top of that, he is such a level-headed lad. He played his first game for us and then went and caught the bus home. We have sorted him a lift out now but that says it all about the kind of lad he is. He is one of the first into training and has a top attitude."

“patbrett and fashy you are both utterly wrong.
Freeman is a freeman and therefore will play for whoever he likes Stags, Reds and Notts and whatever position he wants thats what being a Freeman is all about”

“OK - having said it was the last time - I do think that the main point of these pages is for Forest fans to discuss alternative points of view in a civilised manner. So...
...I accept that Freeman shows all the signs of being the real deal. I just think that he's not quite ready for the deep end (damn close though) and as much as I can see the attraction of playing Gunter in front of him that would in effect mean having a rookie in both right sided positions. I'd rather see Freeman develop as a specialist right back, div 1 loan, Forest bench, gradually increased introduction, first choice RB. There's obviously still some money saving to be done and as much as I like him, Gunter is one who would attract interest and serious money.”

“OK, the last time I reply {lol} He doesnt have to play Right back, even Martin Allen acknowledges that in the article!!!! and as iv'e said before, I would push Gunter to wide right and Lynch wide left in front of the full backs because we cant defend the flanks anyway. But I guess its all subjective anyway, these are just my ideas.”

“Ok - the last time I comment on the Freeman situation; "Standing in his way" are Gunter, full international and one of the players who has consistantly looked as if he cares and Moloney - a product of the academy. Freeman is continuing his development towards the day when he is a Forest first team player. What is to be gained by having him sit on the Forest bench rather than playing on the County pitch? (The 24hr recall is an obvious bonus).”
