NOTTINGHAM Forest have been fined £12,500 by the FA following the fracas during the match against Leeds United.

The Yorkshire club have also been fined £7,500 following the incident during the 1-1 draw at the City Ground.

Both clubs were charged by the FA for failing to control their players after a mass confrontation.

Reds defender Chris Gunter was retrospectively handed a three-match ban for stamping on United winger Sanchez Watt.

Both players were handed yellow cards for the incident by match referee Tony Bates.

But, under new rules, the FA were able to hand out a more severe punishment to Gunter when video evidence was reviewed.

The defender served the first match of the ban when Forest played at Reading on Saturday.

“Quite right too Patrick E Tree .Lets have the whole team on an "Anger Management " course. Too many players getting yellows, later in season
there will Red cards , suspensions which our small squad cannot cope with. The club is falling into the trap , of
being recognised as easy to provoke,
which will be to our detriment. COYR.”

“We must be the only club in the whole league to spend more on FA fines than we are on transfers this year!. I'm all for Forest getting more aggressive, as we have so easily been bullied by some teams in the past. However, there has to be a line drawn, and incidents of stamping on people are out of order (regardless of the fact that they did it first). We are quickly building a reputation for ourselves with all this indiscipline and it needs sorting NOW!”
