NOTTINGHAM Forest defender Chris Gunter is facing a retrospective three-match ban following an incident in the game with Leeds United on Sunday.

The two clubs have also both been charged under the FA's new fast-track rules with failing to control their players.

“Teacherman, do you remember King Kenny Burns sticking his nut on an opponent, on TV. He did not do it again, Cloughie and a big fine saw to that.”

    “Chillwel Whites,
you make some good points - but I don't think anyone, including BD is saying Gunther didn't act stupidly.

The point is this was the culmination of several off the ball incidents in our box, at the Leeds end.

Camp was stamped on, there's not doubt about that. Gunther was also stamped on. He reacted to that which he shouldnt' have done.

Then several Leeds players went after him. They all should have known better.

It seems as though only Gunther is facing further punishment though.”

“Typical Forest - their player is seen by the entire world stamping on an opposition player and the response is 'dirty Leeds'. Laughable.

Although that is not nearly as laughable as Davies saying Forest would do better in La Liga as if Leeds is beneath him. Really? So Spanish sides can't pass to each other, give soft goals away, not get a shot on target for a whole 45minutes and turn up for a 96 minute game and want it won on points after 20 (it's not Torville & Dean mate).

Forest and Davies should concentrate on winning the team in front of them instead of moaning about 'well we played the better football' over and over like a broken record.

I want to see a strong Forest in the city where I live - would nice to see them back in the Prem and bring a bit of kudos back to Nottingham. Ken Bates rates them - he pretty much dislikes everyone else - but as long as Forest flatter to deceive - and that goes for Davies as well as the team - they ain't going nowhere.”

“What the TV replays dont show is how Gunter was being pushed, jabbed and pinched by the Leeds player. Okay Gunter shouldnt have reacted the way he did, but moments earlier Camp was on the end of having his head stamped on which resulted with no punishment by the Ref on the Leeds player. Rubbish.

However I still feel the Leeds away fans played a massive part on this...they were winding the players up and their masses acted as a 12th person on the pitch. Which brings me to the fact that Forest should move the away fans to another part of the stadium...other clubs do it so why cant we!?? Also I wish they would stop giving so many away tickets to clubs...all they do is overpower us as its a noisy part of the stadium.

Well lets do something about it, with a petition. One has been created on facebook and can be access via this link:

“What ever happened to the FA rule - "The referee's decision is final"? - if that's the case, no further action should be taken.

You charge one club, you must charge the other - just like they have done, you charge one player for something, you *should* charge the other for similar incidents!”

“"Forest will be a "job in progress" for a few more years yet, and Billy will be gone soon, and we WILL miss him. This club is being run as a business and the Mark Arthur PR excercise fund. You cannot move forward if your only aim is to buy on the cheap. Trotter's Inc... You can't get every Lee Camp cheaply, nor Raddy, nor Gunter, we won't get Whittingham either now Boro want him. They will bid once and he will be gone, and he'll wear their red with pride... 20 goals plus"

Christ, I've never seen such a negative outlook on these pages. I bet the atmosphere in your house is like a morgue!!!!”

    “Good point Mandy.

For the ref to book Gunther and the Leeds player means he saw the incident (judging by the lengthy consultation with twiddle dum and twiddle summer he didn't see it but anyway) which means action was taken therefore the authorities can't get involved.

Why aren't they looking at the stamp on Camp and other incidents in the game?”

“We can all villify the actions of a young lad who was provoked and yes I agree that in the heat of the moment Chris Gunter was a bit dumb. Learn from it and move on. Have a chat with King Kenny Burns about how to dish out retribution without getting banned. Be smart. I also was brought up on Cloughies principles, he would never have allowed any direct retaliation on dirty Leeds, however, the Burns/Lloyd system he was fine with”
