NOTTINGHAM Forest will take no special measures to counter the threat of former Reds striker Grant Holt, with manager Billy Davies insisting today: "We want Norwich to fear us."

The front man fired 30 goals last season to help Norwich power their way out of League One.

And 29-year-old Holt, who netted 24 goals in 83 starts and 26 sub appearances for Forest after signing from Rochdale for £300k in January 2006, has already fired three goals in the opening weeks of the current campaign.

But, while Davies says Forest will respect all of Norwich's dangerous players, he says they will be focusing their attention on making sure they make the most of their own attacking threat at the City Ground tomorrow.

"We don't work that way," said Davies. "What we try to do is get the best out of our own players.

"We know that if we can get our own players performing well, we don't need to single out anyone in the opposition.

"We know they will have more than one good player and several different threats – and we will do our homework to make sure we are prepared.

"We will focus on making sure that we are doing everything we can to cause them as many problems as possible."

Davies expects a tough task against Paul Lambert's side – but the Forest boss does not expect any new additions to be on board to bolster his squad.

He is still hopeful there will be new signings before the window closes on Tuesday.

He said: "There is no easy task in the Championship, but we are looking forward to this.

"There is a great spirit in the camp and the players are working extremely hard.

"It is highly unlikely that there will be new additions in time to face Norwich.

"But, before the window closes, there hopefully will be.

"I don't know what the situation is beyond that, but we will see what develops."

    “Worriedred, you are a moron.

What the hell has racism got to do with me wanting an English owner who is a lifelong Forest fan. It's hard to find words to describe your idiocy.”

“I have been told that prior to kick off at the dierby v qpr game tomorrow,a certain section of dierby fans who call themselfs the barmy army(A.K.A yanks rent a crowd/atmosphere) are going to unveil a banner that states Nottingham is not a Footballing Town.
I hope for their sake that they have thought it through, remember their last home game v qpr(live on tv) and the t-shirt fiasco.
I can see it now,10 mins to K.O banner out Nottingham's Not A Footballing Town, half time qpr 4 - dierby 0,75th min qpr 6 - dierby 0,stadium half empty, stragglers chanting Clough/yanks out just a few hours after the unveiling of Nigels dads statue.
Come on you dierby rent a crowd, dont do the yanks PR work for them, you are playing qpr not Forest keep us out of it.
If you want to be famous by association go and hang around with Paris Hilton and dont use us.”

“So what is all of this Billy Davis out stuff born from then?

OK, so he speaks his mind, plays games in the press etc. but it is for a good cause - he wants to do well.

Surely he's not the only manager to be like this - are there any other theories why ND and the board supposedly want him out? Surely they can see that he is one of, if not the best manager since the great Clough??”

    “Concerned Red.
    You should be concerned.
Billy is on his way out.
Things aren't well at the City Ground.
    Piece together the evidence.
His fellow passenger on the Glasgow flight last week. John Bird's post yesterday, something is happening that we don't know about!
    No change there then.”
