NOTTINGHAM Forest manager Billy Davies (pictured) will continue his efforts to make signings today and is hopeful of additions before the weekend.

But, despite edging four points clear of the relegation zone, he says they must still look behind them, rather than up towards the higher reaches of the Championship.

"We have a needs-must scenario and we are working hard to bring players in," he said. "We have to go into the window with caution still.

"We have to keep our heads above water between now and the end of the season then, during the summer period, we can start to restructure.

"The plan is to keep the head above water. Get to the summer and sort out the major surgery we need. Then we can compete at the top. That plan has not changed.

"I have not looked at the table, I am not interested to be honest. Look at the next match, yes. But I am not bothered about the table. I don't care.

"I want to concentrate on the next game, nothing else. I have told the players to forget about the table. Don't worry about it. Worry about your games and then worry about the table in May. Then we can see where we are."

“Having had Forest coursing through my veins for 60 years, (I was at Wembley when they won the Cup!) I have learned to live with despair since the club 'wisely?' sacked Frank Clarke.
Thank God for Billy Davies. For God's sake, get behind him and the Reds. This is the BIG chance to head back to Glry. The guy talks so much sense. He doesn't just talk the talk, he makes things happen. By the way, bad choice Nigel! You'll be out of work by the end of the season.”

“Billy Davies has impressed me greatly during his short tenure. He seems, calm, effective, efficient & assured; he has also got results from the same squad as CC left him. Well done Billy & keep up the good work. YOU REDS!”
