NOTTS Army Cadet Force girls are the Eastern Region football champions.

They secured victories in the senior girls' and junior girls' sections in the annual championship at Colchester Barracks in Essex. The junior boys' teams were runners-up.

Both girls' teams now go forward to the National Army Cadet Force championships at Dayncourt School, Radcliffe-on-Trent, next month.

Team manager Lieutenant Kate Steventon said: "Last year the juniors were champions and the seniors runners-up, so there is a lot to live up to."
