AFTER tonight, anyone looking for one of the Lace Market's biggest bars and restaurants will be left singing the bluus.

Bluu, in Broadway, has long been a key stop on any swanky cocktail crawl. But it's shutting its doors after tonight.

Bluu bosses were this week keeping schtum as to why the bar, which also has locations in London, Manchester and Birmingham, is bidding adieu. So all we can tell you is that tonight there's live music from Tee Dymond, and tomorrow there's darkness and locked doors. So get down there while you can.

IT'S only been a week, but a big new food-and-drink establishment is already packing them in on the banks of the Trent.

Perched on the northwest corner of Trent Bridge, the Riverbank Bar and Kitchen has, by all reports, been a tough place to find a free table during its first week in business.

Sun-seeking punters have, among other things, been taking advantage of the place's massive new riverside patio.

It also offers early bird lunch and dinner specials, a daytime deli service including coffees and pastries and a different live music or DJ evening every night. (We're planning on not leaving it too long before checking out the Thursday night "Buena Vista Social Club" Latin and Afro-Cuban night.)

Check out the EG food page in the coming weeks for more on The Riverbank.
